Of all the GREAT shows at the Dell, and there have been a bunch of them, my personal favorite was the Commitments. They rocked the crowd with their songs from the movie. It's a wonderful venue for concerts.
“Fourth of July 2001, Cooper River Park…America In Concert! Wow! What a great day. It was a sea of Red, White and Blue with thousands of people enjoying the day together…a spectacular celebration.”
“The Dell really is a spectacular outdoor venue for live music, whether it’s listening to the unique voice of Chuck Prophet or grooving to the smooth slide guitar licks of Sonny Landreth,
every show has something special to offer.”
“There have been many great concerts throughout the summers in Camden County. Ollabelle, Alejandro Escovedo and Shelby Lynne to name a few. But, the one I probably enjoyed the most was Dar Williams at the Dell in Haddon Lake Park. What a wonderful place to see a show.”
“I recall the ominous weather conditions the first time the Jazz Crusaders played Wiggins Park. It appeared the concert would be cancelled. Suddenly the clouds & rain blew away and THEN the Crusaders proceeded to blow US all away. The show ended with Wayne Henderson & Wilton Felder mesmerizing the audience by holding a note, in unison, for 5 minutes. Wow! What a performance.”

“The free concerts in Cooper River Park are a treasure. A few that stand out are the rain shortened Ralph Stanley show, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes and of course Roseanne Cash, one of the most sublime artists and songwriters we have these days. I always say it and I’ll say it again, Camden County is a music festival all summer long.”
